    1. This illustrative estimate is based on real-world past performance. Future impact could be higher or lower depending on a wide range of factors.

    2. Where reasonable estimates aren’t possible for a particular charity, we estimate their impact based on the most similar other recommended charities.

    3. We have generally estimated the impact of charities' main programs only, meaning they may also help other types of animals or have other climate benefits which aren't reflected in this estimate.

    • We work with trusted partners: FarmKind collaborates with Every.org, a non-profit donation platform that has processed over $62,000,000 in donations and is trusted by over 5,000 US non-profits. This way you can be confident your donations will reach your chosen charities and be put to good use to help animals.

    • We are independently funded: As a grant-funded non-profit, we don't take any cut from your donations – 100% goes to your chosen charities. Plus, none of the charities we recommend are paying us. This way, we have no financial incentives influencing our charity selections, guaranteeing unbiased, independent recommendations for donors like you.

    • We’re backed by respected voices: FarmKind has been featured in reputable press outlets including Forbes. We're also endorsed by prominent figures such as Peter Singer, Professor and best-selling author of books like "The Life You Can Save."

  • Our top animal charities are transparent, trustworthy and focused on delivering results. We only recommend charities that are transparent about how they use your donations and can show that they are making a real impact.

All our charities must have been rigorously assessed and then recommended by Animal Charity Evaluators, who are an independent organization that spends thousands of hours interrogating charities' operations to understand how much good they do with each donation. We also work with expert grant-makers to further refine our recommendations.

  • The top animal charities can help hundreds (if not thousands) of animals with the same donation that some of the best-known animal charities need to help just one.

But figuring out which are the best animal charities is too much work for any individual donor to take on. That's why we've done the homework for you, with our recommended charities.

By giving at least some of your donations to these charities, you can be confident your donation isn't going to waste and is going to make a big difference for the animals suffering in factory farms that desperately need your support.

  • We don’t share your personal information with the charities you donate to through FarmKind. When you make a donation with us, you’ll be directed to our trusted donation platform provider, Every.org. "If you ever have a chance to meet a cow, pig, turkey, or goat, you will see that they are just as cute and funny as your dogs and cats and that they, too, want to live and feel love. They don't like pain."

    Alicia Silverstone, Actress

  • “Technological advances, as well as the global desire for cheap meat, have turned this into an age of animal cruelty. But we can also see glimmers of how it might, one day, end… But that future is not assured. It must be created, and The Humane League, Good Food Institute [and others] are trying to do just that.”

    Ezra Klein, New York Times

  • “Factory farming is a really corporate system that’s pushing [real American farmers] out and creating a very inhumane way of creating our food. It’s also the number one contributor to pollution — more than cars. If you care about the environment you should care about factory farming and changing farming practices.”

    Natalie Portman, Actress

  • Jane Goodall, Zoologist

"It's now proven that each animal, that the cow, pig, sheep, goat, rabbit, poultry or any other species used for food, is an individual, an individual capable of feeling depression, fear and pain. The conditions of animals in factory farms are unacceptable, crammed into tiny spaces, they're often treated with extreme cruelty."

    Jane Goodall, Zoologist

  • “By being both smart and kind we can end the suffering inflicted on billions of the most neglected individuals. I am eager and excited to see FarmKind make it even easier for people to contribute to a more hospitable world for all.”

Stien van der Ploeg, Animal Charity Evaluators

  • Peter Singer

“If you want to reduce the suffering of animals, then supporting organizations working to improve the lives of factory-farmed animals is the most effective way to do it. That's why I support FarmKind’s aim, to encourage more people to donate to highly effective charities addressing this issue. For animals, for people, and for the planet, ending factory farming is essential.”

Peter Singer, Author and Ethics Professor

  • “I believe that donating to great organisations fighting against factory farming is the single most impactful thing an individual can do to reduce suffering in the world. FarmKind makes it easy for anyone to be a part of the solution, regardless of their diet.”
