How donating helps
Your donation is split across six expert charities, chosen with help from Animal Charity Evaluators. 100% of it goes to them.
Forcing companies to drop the cruellest practices
The Humane League has successfully pressured over 300 major companies, including Walmart and McDonald’s, to commit to cage-free eggs. They’ve helped increase egg production in the US from 4% to 45% cage-free over the past decade.
Through public pressure campaigns, Sinergia Animal has secured 152 corporate commitments to stop using eggs from caged hens. It has also convinced 25 major South American food companies to stop keeping mother pigs in crates so small they can’t turn around.
Building food that doesn’t need factory farms
The Good Food Institute works globally with scientists, businesses and policymakers to support innovation in plant-based and cell-cultured meat. This benefits both climate and animals. They helped secure $390M in European government funding for alternatives to factory farming in 2022.
Dansk Vegetarisk Forening works with institutions to make climate-friendly food more accessible. Every $1 they spent on government investment campaigns in 2023 secured $68 in public funding. They also took Danish Crown, Europe’s largest pork producer, to court for greenwashing and won.
Reaching the animals nobody counts
Fish Welfare Initiative has improved living conditions for over 4.8 million fish and shrimp through their Alliance for Responsible Aquaculture in India. Fish that were struggling in murky, polluted ponds can now breathe more easily in clean water.
Shrimp Welfare Project provides humane slaughter equipment to ensure shrimp don’t suffer slow, painful deaths by suffocation, receiving quick, painless electrical stunning instead.

Unless you choose a specific charity, your donation will go to FarmKind’s Impact Fund, which is made up of all six of our recommended charities. This includes both charities working to protect animals from suffering today, and those helping to evolve our food system towards a more sustainable, kinder future.
You’ll help eliminate cruel practices for chickens and pigs, such as confining hens to tiny cages and mutilating piglets. You’ll spare fish from suffering in overcrowded, dirty water and ensure shrimp are slaughtered humanely. You’ll help promote alternative protein innovation and lobby for deregulation of new technologies and removal of unfair subsidies, reducing our reliance on factory-farmed products. All together, you’ll help create a more humane and sustainable food system, benefiting humans, animals, and the environment.
Our six recommended charities are: The Humane League, The Good Food Institute, Sinergia Animal, Shrimp Welfare Project, Fish Welfare Initiative and Dansk Vegetarisk Forening. Meet them here.

Donations using a valid matching code will get 50% added on top, while funds last, so that their donation can help even more animals.
The match comes from our Bonus Fund, a pre-paid fund provided by FarmKind’s more passionate donors who want to help encourage others to join them in donating to fix factory farming. More information about the fund is available here.

We do the research for you: The top animal charities can help hundreds (if not thousands) of animals with the same donation that some well-known animal charities need to help just one. But identifying the most effective animal charities requires extensive research that's impractical for individual donors. We've done that work by building off the top charity selections of Animal Charity Evaluators (who conduct rigorous, public evaluations) and consulting with expert grantmakers to curate our recommendations.
We're an independently funded non-profit: This means we pass on 100% of your donations to our recommended charities — we don’t take a cut. It also means that our recommendations are totally independent — our only priority is to help you find and fund some of the very best charities working to end factory farming.

1. Rigorous evaluation: All our charities must have been rigorously assessed by independent charity evaluators, like Animal Charity Evaluators, with detailed public reports available. Our selection was refined in consultation with professional grantmakers. This means that our recommendations are backed up by thousands of hours of research to understand how much good difference charities can do with your donation.
2. Track record: Our charities’ track records speak for themselves: They have secured commitments from over 500 major companies (Walmart, KFC, PepsiCo) to phase out cruel practices, helped increase cage-free egg production in the US from 5% to 45%, and influenced hundreds of millions of dollars in government funding for alternative proteins. These aren't theoretical future changes — they're concrete, measurable wins that in many cases have already improved conditions for millions of animals, with transparent documentation of how donations translate to results.
